MotoGiro 2002 - June in Italy

OK yes I know. I haven't written a dang thing yet. That's because I am too busy *telling* everyone who will listen how fabulous and unforgettable the Moto Giro and Italy were.

Here are some pics up on Ducati.net of our adventures to tide you over.

Italy is amazing, the Italians are amazing...and the best drivers I've ever encountered. Oh my god, the food...I'm finding it hard to eat anything back here in the states. I want to live in Italy. If you're a nice, single Italian fellow who lives near Mugello & has Ducatis, I'd like to marry you so I can live in Italy please.

Stuff we did. I'll fill these in as I find time...

- Ducati Factory & Museum + watched the World Cup game at the factory!!!
- World Ducati Week
- Tamburini's race bikes
- MotoGiro (I crashed - dang!)
- WSBK Misano
- Waterfall outside Florence
- Florence, full moon & fireworks on the Arno. Uffizi, Santa Croce, Duomo, San Minneato, Accademia,Vivoli gellato

There aren't enough superlatives in my vocabulary to describe this trip. I'm going again in 2003, this time in vintage class. My plan over the next year are to get my 68 Scrambler running so I can practice vintage single maintenance, as well as getting used to drum brakes and shifting on the right! By December I want to own a 1954 Mondial 175 Tourismo. If I can ship it over to the Giro I will, otherwise I'll rent a Motobi for the 2003 race.

More to come!
